Pollution is the Solution Part II: Particulates in the News.

Dr. Rolf Philipona and his team with MeteoSwiss, the Swiss federal meteorological agency, has published new research in "Geophysical Research Letters" that shows that not only were particulates due to coal and diesel use responsible for the cooling phase from the 1950's to the 1970's but the falling amounts of particulates from the 1980's onwards has had a far greater effect on the temperatures in Europe than greenhouse gasses have had, accounting for 2/3 of the entire warming in the last 20 years, amounting to a 1 degree C rise in temperatures.
