VT still does not get it.

Virginia Tech fought to prevent the Virginia legislature from making it legal to carry a CHL weapon on university grounds. Virginia Tech then had a raving lunatic march through their campus killing defenseless people.

So what have they decided to do to commemorate the deaths of defenseless people? They plan on spending over a million dollars to turn it into a new "Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention".

They'd be better off turning it into a indoor gun range and CHL training center.

So-called "peace officers" need a lesson in violence prevention themselves.

I'm SO unimpressed I could just spit.

I'm grateful MY tax dollars are not supporting Va Tech, whom I'm sure is a "state supported" institution.

Don't GET me started!

Gag.

If you think you aren't subsidizing them, you are mistaken. They get a LOT of federal money.

I'm sure, Rorsch, I share more of my "so-called" wealth with the world than I ever hoped to imagine - or ever hope to earn, even! I refuse to share my "guilt" over things I never did, have no control over, or even give a crap about.

The pit is BOTTOMLESS.

They can study peace all they want. They cannot contron someone who decides to murder. A gun could. Nuff said.

Unfortunately, lunatics that decide to wander a campus shooting people indiscriminately don't bother to study peace or violence prevention.

Classic Forest for the Trees Syndrome.

Academia has always succeeded in many places, but the common sense area has always been lacking and self defeating. They will destroy a tree to save a blade of grass; they will flood a town to save a frog species; they might concoct an idea to to destroy themselves as a classic Star Trek episode argument... however they really just need a handle on reality.

For most, teaching from a text book is their forte, not writing the contents.... let them do, or keep them in their spaces...just don't let them think.
