Somehow, I get the feeling that they fail to see the irony.

Yesterday evening I got home to find this in my mailbox.

After all the voting irregularities and ethics violations and the canceled election last year that NHMCCD has committed, why in HELL do they think they have the knowlege to teach this to ANYONE?

I think I may just attend....

This could be the beginning of a trend. Violate election laws and have a conference open to the public about election legal matters. Perhaps a conference open to the public on the Texas Open Meeting Act will be next.

It's about like them having the head of the Tx Ethics Commission inhouse teaching about ethics AFTER they cancelled the election. It might be worthwhile since you're a precinct chair, but do you really want to give THEM $50 bucks? And do you really trust anything coming out of the mouth of a crook like Andy Taylor? Ugh. Puke me a river!

Certainly I'd prefer to NOT spend $50 bucks for this. It's bad enough I'd have to burn a vacation day to go. (luckily I have 4 days that will roll over for next year.)

But I'm thinking it might be worth it to twist the knife some.

I have requested permission to videotape, it may be a while before I find out if it's OK since they are shutting the place down for three freakin weeks.(must be nice to get all that paid time off on top of vacation too.).

Yah - nice vacation for them, eh? The profs get much more time than that off between the fall and spring semesters. I think the staff get 11 days off and the profs more like 30. I bet they won't let you videotape it as you might try to market the program and they won't earn a dime from it.

I wonder why I didn't get one of those mailers? You must be special, Rorsc. ;-)

Yeah, I guess you could say I'm "special". I'm a Precinct Chair which also means I'm an Election Judge AND I'm a voting member of the Harris County GOP Executive Committee. I've also been kinda vocal on election issues as you might recall...=b

The envelope was addressed to "The Honorable Judge so and so" so I suspect it has something to do with my appointment as election judge.

Attend the hearing for Rand Key who was just selected as the LSCS Senior Vice Chancellor. "The selection was made by system chancellor Richard Carpenter and will be ratified by the system’s Board of Trustees at its next meeting."

Why attend this particular board meeting? It's a done deal - board approval is just a formality, and SOME of us are not welcome on district property without prior approval - EVEN though this is a PUBLIC meeting.

Pah. SOS.
