Going Dark....

Readers may note a change around here. My template now reflects my mood. I am in mourning for the United States and our impending loss of freedom. It will remain dark until this scourge upon our nation is lifted.

You need a beer my friend.

The sun came up this morning, the Republicans didn't lose the filibuster right in the Senate, and Rep. Ryan has (finally) outlined a real, honest to God, plan for your party.

Things aren't ALL bad.

All bad? No, you are right, it could have been worse. But that filibuster-proof majority is still within reach, for one thing there are four states that were too close to call last I heard, which if they won all four could put them at the magic number. But even if that is not the case, we must not forget that some of those "republicans" in the senate are pretty squishy an a lot of issues and may flop to the other side when we need them most. When you are down to fewer than half a dozen swing votes one way or another you are bound to lose a few. I only pray we don't lose too many big ones.

Yes, I need a beer. Actually something stronger methinks. Black tar heroin sounds good right about now....=D

Raiderdav, true. But Murtha won. Dole lost, Sununu lost. William Jefferson won, despite being indicted for his little cold cash problem....

I shoved my way into the gun store this day to get me some insurance. I'd promised myself that if the worst happened that would be my consolation 'prize'.

While I was earlobe deep in paperwork a man came in and asked if they had any grief counselors on staff. Jim Pruett fired back "every thing will be fine. that'll be a buck fifty".

I have a small piece of insurance on layaway at my friendly neighborhood pawn broker myself. A Ruger Mark II Government Target Model. (I need to get back on the range and practice and this will help save money on practice ammo. After all, Obama is going to spread my wealth so I won't have as much to spend on ammo, assuming I can still buy any when he is through.) If I thought I could get away with it without my wife skinning me alive I'd put some money on an Springfield XD in either .40 S&W or .45 ACP (I'm having a hard time deciding.). Then again, maybe my next investment should be a reloading press....

No, I hadn't seen it/heard about it, but I'm glad she prevailed even if it was total b.s. that they stuck their 2 cents in the mix.

The cool part is old is now in. Waaaay too many of us are hitting our alleged "golden years" at an alarming rate. I walk around asking for my discount all the time! haha...

If Obama creates a "citizen militia," god help us all ! I may have to buy a little of that "insurance," and I don't know squat about firearms. "O" is going to be hard-up against the "wind of change" he promised. Not everyone will support this presidency or his agenda.

What really hacks me off about it is that what we always suspected turned out to be true even after everyone insisted that they would not keep records of gun purchases clearly they DID keep those records, otherwise how would they have known that she had never bought one before?

At this point I'm glad that not all of my firearms were purchased since the NCIS checks were implemented. And not all of them were purchased by me. They can't come around and collect that which they know nothing about.

And that's a good thing! It's a big, bad, scary world, Rorsch.
