A Public Service Announcement Concerning Early Voting

If you have recently moved and have not updated your voter's registration yet with the new address, or if you have recently changed your name due to a marriage/divorce etc. PLEASE early vote. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL ELECTION DAY. If you vote early, you will be allowed to vote using the ballot for your old precinct, you will have the opportunity to change your voter's registration data for the next go-round and, most importantly, YOUR VOTE WILL COUNT!

IF YOU WAIT, YOUR VOTE WILL NOT COUNT unless you go to your old precinct and vote there. If you go to your new precinct, you may be allowed to vote provisionally, but under most circumstances, other than making you feel better it won't matter. That vote might as well have not been cast. You will have wasted your time and the time of the election judge who must fill out all the paperwork required to allow you to vote provisionally. A vote that probably has less than a 10% chance of being counted.
Texas does not allow election day polling place registration/changes. The deadline for such changes was Oct. 10.

Take a page from the Democrats, Vote early, Vote often. =D

I voted the 2nd day in Jerky Village. I voted a straight ticket except for Danny Boy (and I swore I'd never vote Dem again, go fig).

Isn't it "vote twice for Shelly"?

By the way, good job in getting a completely legal program knocked out of commission at least temporarily. If you don't get that the vote-vax flu shot program was fine, then you never will.

Squeeky wheel and all that. Republicans excel at whining.

Happy blogging!

Michelle, actually, if YOU don't get that it was patently illegal, you never will. Dims excel at voter fraud. Just ask ACORN. Anytime you offer something for free as an inducement to a narrow segment of the population to go to the polls, you are going to be seen as pushing a political agenda. Galveston county did it right and I withdrew my objection to their program. It is all in how you put the program together. the CoH clearly had an agenda and i called them on it. if it was not the least bit poliyical in it's impact the mayor would not have pulled it and I would not have hollered. I think universal flu shots are a wonderful thing. but don't go and use it as a get out the vote tool. Vote nad Vax's own manual specifically warns against such usage.

Sweetie, there was no exchange of shots for votes. The program that gave the money specified that it go to a particular population. If you admit that the people who qualify for the shot also are more likely not to vote Republican, then you confirm the stereotype. You get that, right?

I'll be more than happy to lay it all out for you. Just let me know.

I never said that there was quid pro quo, but if you give something away for free, you attract people to the polling places, and once they are there they are more likely to vote. How many of those people would not have showed up at the polling place had the free shot not been available? Since that segment of the population is 90%+ democrat you are skewing the demographic coming to the polls. You know it is funny that Galveston County could figure out how to set the program up right. Why couldn't the City? Maybe because your idiot mayor has political ambitions once he finishes running the city into the ground, and he wants to be in good graces with the DNC when the time comes.

By the way, don't talk down to me. I'm not an idiot (not by a long shot), nor am I your "sweetie". Save it for someone who gives a rat's ass.

ror, sweetie, the Galveston program doesn't compare to the program that you "single-handedly" stopped in Houston.

You confirm what has always been true: Republicans want to suppress voter turn out. You had no idea who those people may have voted for, but you assumed they would not have voted for your side. That assumption led you to start whining. When you couldn't get attention by stamping your feet, you enlisted bigger feet -- and much bigger whiners.

Pobresito.

And btw, White was asked about a year ago on Red, White and Blue if he would run for governor or other office and he said no.

Take that for what it's worth.
