Hyperdrive anyone?

Clayton Cramer has a link to this article that if true could be a major turning point for the human race. Imagine going here in under 6 months (about 109 days if my calculations are correct.)! Can't you just see the implications for mankind?

Oh come on!

A guy named Gene Rodenberry built that thing when I was a kid!

Tom, it is one thing to come up with a fanciful FTL (Faster Than Light) drive as a plot device for a cheezy TV show, but quite another to actually posit a theory and a conceptual design. Hey, I have a healthy dose of salt to take this with too. This guy might be an inhabitant of the nuthatch for all I know. Gene Rodenberry was pretty forward looking for his day, and they didn't make TOO many science goofs given the fact that it WAS a cheezy Sci-Fi TV show.
