A day of rememberance....

As Michelle Malkin posted on her blog, today is a day of rememberance. Five years ago today, a boat loaded with high explosives rammed the USS Cole, Killing 17 Crewmen. May the people responsible rot in hell for all eternity...

We should also remember (I believe it is
the name of the ship) the USS Liberty
that was blown up by Israel many years
ago. With friends like that, who needs
enemies.

If memory serves, the USS Liberty was sunk because of a case of mistaken identity. Friendly fire is not unknown in combat operations. In instances where ships are fired upon and sunk from beyond the visible horizon, I can see where that sort of mistake would be easy to make. I'm pretty sure the Yemeni bombers knew exactly which ship they were trying to sink this time.
