The REAL Mach 5....AIRPLANE

No, I'm not talking about old Japanese anime about a race car... but it IS Japanese! seems the Japs are building the next SST. They are planning a test flight of a test vehicle at the Woomera Range in Australia. Unfortunately, EADS is part of the development consortium.....

UPDATE:
Apparently I got a little too cute with the title of the post, everyone seemed to think I was talking about a car. OK Mia Culpa. THIS is what I'm talking about:

I figured you were either talking about a new penta-bladed razor, or the terrible, but lovable movie "Firefox" which was on TV the other day.

Wait until 2007 when Toyota hits the NASCAR circuit like a ton of bricks.....

They've already taken over CART and Formula 1.

Sedosi, I was talking about an airplane who's prototype engine can theoretically perform at up to 5.5 times the speed of sound.

Maybe I need a bit more exposition in my posts....

Toyota has hardly taken over in F1. The highest level of racing is still dominated by European automakers.

I do look forward to Toyota entering Nascar.

From your post title, Rorschach, I was expecting a flashback to one of my favorite childhood cartoons.

Sorry, didn't read the link. (my bad)

And yes, F1 was a stretch but they do control CART and INDY.

They are making good inroads into the F1 circuit however.

Agreed. Both japanese teams are doing better than many established teams.

Things will only get better for both in the future, I expect.

Btw, cool picture on the new plane.
