A Call to Protest

April 21st is San Jacinto Day. On that day, Texas won the battle that would lead to it's independence from Mexico. Yesterday, a Senate Subcommittee with Senators from Arizona, South Carolina, and Massachusetts voted to give millions of illegal invaders the keys to our country. They voted for Amnesty. Also yesterday, thousands of these very same invaders marched in protest all over this country, demanding the same rights and priveledges as citizens. We the Citizens of Texas, along with the citizens of California, New Mexico, and Arizona will be the ones that will be on the sharp end of the lance facing the coming flood of invaders. They will trample our borders, our schools, our hospitals, and our homes as they already have every other time Amnesty was granted. We the people of this great country must show our leaders that WE WILL NOT TAKE THIS ANYMORE! I am calling for a protest of our own.

Where: Outside the Houston Federal Building

When: April 21st, from 3:00pm until whenever

Who: ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS

I encourage all similarly angry citizens in other cities to do the same. Let's make this a National Protest.

Seems like a good idea, but too little, too late. After the media is through adding fuel to the fire, there's no way Congress will back down to the protestors. You can thank Rodney King again for this one too. You're right that T. Kennedy sure won't have to worry about it "up Nawth"....he lives in a fortress anyway, what does he care. Even Bush, who I've supported through thick and thin is clueless saying we are a country of immigrants: bull hockey! It's pandering, plain and simple. Or running scared, I'm not sure which...

Rorschach,

I can't say I'm complete agreement with you, but I do share your outrage over the immigrants' demonstrations.

I'll be there in spirit.

I'll be there in person. We need to arrange for speakers, signage, the whole nine yards. Just showing up isn't enough of a plan . . . Anyone got skills in organizing such a thing?

Ubu, I have zero experience with this, but I have some ideas for signage, I had hoped to get LST and possibly KSEV interested in this, but that does not appear to be panning out. I know the local GOP people from my precinct would be interested, but I don't know if Jared Woodfill would but the Harris County GOP behind it given some of the GOP's baggage in this.

Enh, the local GOP might as well, for all the support they're going to get from Hispanics here, but the state and national party is a bit more, ah, reluctant...

Wonder if John Cornyn's office could lend a hand or bit of advice. Seems to me he'd have a reason to want to see some public support for his position in the committee.

At this point, my main concern is whether a permit will be needed. Fail to get one and the opposition will capitalize on that. And yes, there will be "opposition." It's safer to assume so....

I just might have to stop on by... but the minute it gets out of hand and turns into an anti-Mexican instead of a pro-Texas rally, all will be lost and we will have shot ourselves in the foot.

YOU may stay home. This is not a racial issue, if you MAKE it one, you will undermine our cause. If you show up, we WILL make sure we distance ourselves from you and disavow your rhetoric. We will join the Mexicans in stoning you.

Huh, only ten messages before a troll shows up. I think we can all agree Rorschach is talking to Mr. Asshole Nation above, not The Umpire. :-) I definately agree with The Umpire--that's one call I won't argue.

Why can't we protest Mexicans? Kick their ass back to Mexico

Because the pro-(illegal)immigration media (that is, all of it) will be looking for any such sentiment so they can portray honest people worried about this country as racist scum, and poison the whole anti-illegal movement before it gets started.

I have no desire to associate with or be known as a racist. After all, why the focus on Mexicans? don't you want to kick illegal Hatians back to Haiti? What about the illegal Chinese smuggled over here?

The focus is illegal immigration. If you have a beef with any ethnic group, stay home.

I think it's pretty clear that the anonymous klansman is in reality a Hispanic activist who is trying to divide real Americans from their unwritten national duty. Just a sample of how Pro-American sentiments can be openly accessed by those who want to challenge and take advantage of misplaced American charity. Don't forget that they broke into our county. They abuse our taxpayer-funded schools, hospitals and social services. Now, and to a far greater degree, they will be raping our Social Security. When it comes time for us to retire, we will have to fight for scraps with the criminal Mexicans who have paid absolutely nothing into the system...but expect a big check. And just how courageous do you think our politicians will be? They look like a bunch of schoolgirls fighting over the best hair brush. I seriously doubt they will be in a stronger position anytime in the near or remote future. They're trying to make sure their pension is as juicy as possible. I'm wondering how many laws I can break before the local, state and federal police decide I should be removed from society. If I'm Hispanic, it seems I can do anything, anytime, to anyone - and I'll be excused. Law. Rules. Respect. Don't real Americans deserve a little respect? Is it too Freaking much to ask people to acknowledge our rules and obey our laws? Look: if we don't stop this crap right now, our country is gone. I'll take off work and go to the rally. Please guys, no "bubbas" in NRA t-shirts.Try to dress nice and be well-spoken for the local media when they try to embarrass us. The media is not on our side. Period. Their misplaced loyalties are a major part of the problem. World class city with one stinking newspaper. AAAAGGGHHHHH! Focus people. This is more important than you know. I've been to Mexico and I didn't like it much. Mexican President George W. Bush doesn't impress me on this issue at all. If we don't enforce our laws, our rules, our standards, our borders and our culture...opportunists will take it and begin enforcing THEIRS!

BTW, I called the City of Houston this afternoon to inquire on the need for permits and was assured that as long as we do not block streets, entrances or exits and stay on COH sidewalks/ROW, no permits are needed.

seems there is some "inbreeding" with all the bloggers...

should bloggers be called "blobbers" instead, since they are like blobs and spread all over the place where there are blogs and start their own blog eventually..

there are real problems in this world folks...

spend more time trying to solve the problems intead of writing about them..

help a neighbor...
build a house for a homeless...
help guard our borders...

if you line all the sentences every blogger type, it would circle the world 25 times and have enough left to go to mars and back

while the world burns...bloggers just type away or go to another blog and start their own blog and type away...

time to start a "AAA" for bloggers...

Well, I see someone in Plano is off their meds..... (here I go feeding the trolls again...)

To Mr (not so)Anon (yes, just because you posted "anonymously" doesn't mean I didn't record your ISP and IP address), perhaps you didn't notice what the thread is about. It is ABOUT getting out and doing something. Specifically protesting how our government is laying down and rolling over to accomodate Vicente Fox and all of his cast-offs.

Or perhaps you are complaining about how I also contribute to Lone Star Times, and comment on other blogs including several that The Chronicle is now running. Have you considered that perhaps I have a lot to say?

Help An Neighbor? Did that day before yesterday, and again two days earlier for a different neighbor.
Build a house for the homeless? Not likely. Many, probably most, don't WANT a house, they'd have to WORK then.
Help Guard our borders? Again didn't you read the thread?

Hi, I just now am reading this proclamation to protest on April 21st....I think it is a great idea, but why haven't we done this sooner? Why is it taking so long for the majority of Americans who are against the influx of illegals to form a huge nationwide protest? I think I know why...for a couple of reasons;

#1. The illegals and the people and groups who support them are the ones who have lots of media power (such as the Hispanic radio stations, and the main stream media). I have noticed that there are people like you and me who are showing up at these protests, but the media gives us no coverage...not only that, We could have 1 million people show up who were against the illegal problems and the mainstream media would probably show NONE of it.
When conservatives plan protest marches, the liberals get wind of it and they hi-jack the protest by bringing in their own protesters....then the media covers mostly the liberals and makes the conservatives look like a bunch of prejudice, minority haters. I experienced this last fall when we Minutemen marchers had a few marches in down town Houston, and at the very first one, Sheila Jackson Lee got wind of it and set up a podium at the protest, and had Lulac, the black panthers, and anyone else they could gather there and hold up signs saying that we were "prejudice". I saw for the first time how the liberals and the media spin and twist just about everything we do that is good for this country.

#2. Have you noticed that conservatives do not have the support of any really large group other than themselves? The liberals have the ACLU, the Unions, main stream media, AARP, LuLak, NAACP, and just about every minority group in America. Who do the conservatives have? Just us......we don't have the backing of hardly any large organization in America.....even though the majority of legal Americans want border control!

I, along with others like yourself, have tried to stir the interest of some people to protest and it has just fizzled. I called Dan Patrick (whom I really love and admire...I contributed to his compaign even though I don't live in his district)on AM 700 KSEV, about 3 weeks ago...on the Monday after the big LA march, and asked him to please help organize a nation wide march...he side stepped the question. Then the next day I called into his program using a different name and told him that he could do in one or two days what it would take me weeks and months to do because he has access to the radio, and would he please help organize a nationwide protest and march. My idea was that everyone gather that next Saturday at their closest court house with signs etc since more people will participate if they don't have to go too far...and everyone should call their local newspapers to let them know they would be at the court house.
But, Dan basically told me that a march is not the message that conservatives want to send, and that he did not think it was a good idea! Then that same day he interviewed Senator Cornyn and asked Cornyn if a march was a good idea, and Cornyn said the same thing as Dan. I was so let down and disappointed. If we can't even get these 2 people stirred up for a protest, who can we?
A protest march is the VERY THING WE NEED TO DO! And lots of them. This is the very reason that the government gives groups like the illegals what they want, because they make noise.....just like the old saying "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"....well they are squeaking a whole lot and the government is watching and listening. All the faxes, emails, and phone calls aren't working. We are being way too nice about all this!

If you are still planning of the march on the 21st, I would like to be there. But, I am feeling really stepped on and slapped down at this point.....thanks for reading this and taking the time. I doubt it will end up on the Lone Star TImes website since Dan is the main man.

We need to stop having these anti-illegal marches at Federal buildings and have them where they will do the most good....at the work sites and companies who hire the illegals...such as construction companies.

This would embarrass them and do more good than marching and protesting at Fed buildings since the Fed government could care less as to what we have to say.
