Most employers cannot afford (nor justify) that kind of salary increase. I blame the county commissioners to some degree for allowing salaries to get so far out of line that they had to "go overboard" to catch up with the private sector. It's true in any profession, you get what you pay for, but 90K/yr for an executive assistant? In the public sector? Who takes "naps" on her bosses couch?

That's just wrong!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13598068.post-49499048245557445172008-01-25T08:31:00.000-06:002008-01-25T08:31:00.000-06:00I believe with the raise she is now the fourth hig...I believe with the raise she is now the fourth highest paid executive assistant in Harris County Government.

Now mind you, nobody in the office had gotten a raise in some years, so I'm not altogether sure this is not on the up and up, but the simple fact of the matter is that her prior (and current?) relationship with her direct supervisor puts EVERYTHING done in a bad light. You can no longer separate legitimate actions and those that are preferential. He should NEVER have been allowed to have his former lover working directly under him (so to speak).Rorschachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11848860674369931761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13598068.post-5078099480167227122008-01-25T07:46:00.000-06:002008-01-25T07:46:00.000-06:00I was agog when I heard this in the news and read ...I was agog when I heard this in the news and read it in the Chronicle. Last I heard she is the 12th highest paid court personnel performing in similar positions. Or something to that effect. (Performing?)

*snork*Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
